Baseball is Back!

It's April! For baseball lovers around the country, optimism abounds as we all believe OUR team will win the World Series.

42 (movie) - 42 is the true story of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in the MLB as he broke the color barrier in 1945. The film shows the adversity he had to overcome as he faced great deals of racism during his career.

Baseball Americana: Treasures from the Library of Congress (book) - Baseball Americana is a favorite among many baseball fans. The book examines all aspects of the sport's history and is packed with illustrations.

Baseball by Ken Burns (documentary series) - Baseball is a documentary series created by Ken Burns about the history of the game of baseball. The series covers a wide range of historical baseball topics such as: African-American players, player and owner relationships, and the overall essence of the game.

Lou Gehrig said, "There is no room in baseball for discrimination. It is our national pastime and a game for all."
