Films that will Transport you Places!

Are you traveling anywhere this summer? Take a trip with the DiMenna-Nyselius Library’s DVD collection to a destination far away. Visit the library’s film collection and pick out a film from our display featuring some of our best destination movies (popcorn included).

Here are some of our favorites including two streaming films from our library database, Kanopy:

 

Little Miss Sunshine- Take a road trip to sunny California with the dysfunctional Hoover family. Follow their tumultuous travels as they attempt to realize little Olive’s dream of winning the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.

Manakamana- A trip that was once a multi-day trip, now just a 10 minute cable car ride away, watch as various travelers and their stories from the village of Manakamana in Nepal reach an ancient mountaintop temple.

Mamma Mia!- In this musical tale, Sophie plans on having a destination wedding on a Greek island, but decides to invite three of her mother’s past lovers in attempt to discover who her real father might be.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert- Two drag queens and a transgender woman leave the safety of Sydney, Australia to travel across the desert to perform at a drag show, but not without an array of crazy and comedic adventures on the way.

The Hitch-hiker- Two middle-class homebodies take a vacation to Mexico for what they thought would be a fishing trip, but endure a tension-packed dance of death as their lives are taken over by a psychopathic serial killer.

2 Days in Paris- In attempt to repair their tattered relationship, Jack and Marion travel to the romantic Paris, home of Marion’s many ex-boyfriends. (Online)
