10 Things Students Can Sign-Up for

Did you know you can sign up for the following program, services, and resources from the Library?

  1. NEW Virtual Study Rooms Get in the zone and focus on Sunday evenings 8-9:30pm through a Zoom study room, facilitated by a Writing Center tutor. Additional dates will be added soon to the Library events page.
  2. NEW Sent by Stags: A Letter Exchange Program for Fairfield U Students to Stay Connected Because getting mail is fun! Students matched with another student and will send and receive one letter per month during the Fall 2020 semester. Stamps provided on request. Optional prompts provided too.
  3. The Student Library Advisory Board Have ideas for how to improve the library? Apply for a spot on the board by 9/20.
  4. Be a "Human Book" at our Human Library If you have a story that challenges stereotypes/prejudices, we hope you will sign up by 10/2 to share your story at our upcoming virtual event through one on one dialog (Save the date: Oct. 23rd). We will follow-up with you to provide training.
  5. A Citation Management Tool Account Choose from RefWorks or Zotero which can help you organize and cite your sources. Our tutorials explain how to set up your account but you can also sign-up for a workshop on 9/30 or 10/1.
  6. NEW Spot the Bot Workshop Learn how to spot misinformation on social media. Event open to students from Fairfield and Columbia University.
  7. Digital newspaper subscriptions to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Chronicle of Higher Education.
  8. Research appointments Meet with a librarian virtually one-on-one or with a small group for research help. Just simply use our scheduler to select a time.
  9. Interlibrary Loan Account Log in with your NetID and sign up now for your ILLiad account. Interlibrary loan enables you to request books, book chapters, and articles from other libraries. We can often get electronic articles in 24-48 hours!
