In honor of Martin Luther King week, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library is showcasing books from our collection about African American history as seen through the lens of the court system. Highlighted books include those about the Plessy v. Ferguson trial, the Flood v. Kuhn trial and the Michigan Affirmative Action case. All material is available for check-out.
Stop by to see this display on the main floor of the library and join us on Monday, January 26 from 6-8 p.m. for a showing of the movie “The Loving Story” in the Library Multimedia Room. This documentary film from 2012 tells the dramatic story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple living in Virginia in the 1950s, and their landmark Supreme Court Case that changed history—Loving v. Virginia. There will be a Faculty Discussion Panel following the showing.
