Hardiman Scholars Program (from Office  Academic Affairs)

The Hardiman Scholars Program, funded through the generous support of Mr. John Hardiman '79, supports undergraduate students' research projects that illustrate collaboration with faculty mentors at Fairfield University. The program is open to students from any discipline. For the academic year 2013-2014, five students will be selected as Hardiman Scholars.

Restrictions and criteria for the program are as follows:

  • Open to full-time undergraduate students in any discipline
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Funds of up to $2000 annually must be used for work directly related to students’ scholarly/creative research projects (e.g. travel, conference fees, site visits, research materials, reservation of performance spaces, summer housing while engaged in research, etc.)

To be considered for the Hardiman Scholars Program, students must submit an application before May 1, 2013. The application form, requiring the signature of the student's faculty mentor, is available in Canisius Hall 300 (ask for Mrs. Helen Kropitis). Selected students will be notified by May 15, and funds will be available immediately for use over the next 12 months. Questions from faculty and students can be sent to Dr. David Sapp, Associate VP for Academic Affairs at (dae@fairfield.edu).

The Library is available all summer to help with your research needs.
