Please come to the Library workshop designed for faculty on Monday, April 15 from 4-4:45 pm in Lab 114 of the Library to learn more.
The goals of the workshop are to:
- Highlight the importance of a unique author identifier system to combat problems with common last names and author misidentification
- Discuss two available author identification systems for researchers – ORCID (open community based effort ) and ResearcherID (Thomson Reuters)
- Discuss how getting an unique ID might help Fairfield faculty to build collaborations and generate citation metrics
- Allow time for signing up of for IDs, if people choose to.
Faculty who might be particularly interested include those in Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environment, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Nursing and Physics, as well as anyone whose work is indexed in Web of Science.
