Finals Week @ Your Library
Finals Week Stress Relief will kick off on the first reading day, Tuesday, December 10th, 2019, which is the start of Our 24-hour schedule
All Week:
- De-stress Station in front of the main staircase (Coloring, Legos, Puzzles, etc.)
- After 11 pm on the nights we're open 24 hours, we'll be putting out the free coffee and snack cart in front of the Library Services & Information Desk! Sponsors include the ITS Department, Library, Office of Accessibility and the Office of Academic Support & Retention.
- Free study supplies are available at the desk too (while supplies last).
- Extra study space available in room 114 (lower level) every night starting at 6pm (through 8am) and in the Math Center (main level) from 8pm-8am. Don't forget that the Innovation Lab and Cafe (off the library lobby) are available study spaces too!
- Need to get up and move around? Look around for the 8 holiday pickles hidden in the library (don't worry they are plastic pickle ornaments) and turn them into the Library Services & Information Desk to claim and unwrap your prize.
- Be on the look out for positive affirmations at your study space. Fairfield University club, Project Yes You Can, will be scattering them around the library.
- Take a quick break to play a board game. They will be out on a table on the main level near the staircase. Check one out with your StagCard.
- Finals Film Festival featuring films from the Library's streaming video database, Kanopy. Screenings at 7pm every night 12/11-12/17, rm 101. See below for film titles.
- Listen to our study music playlists on our Spotify channel
- As always Research and Citation Help is available!
Tuesday, Dec. 10th
- Write postcards to send home to let your folks know that you are studying hard in the library! While supplies last. Postage is on us!
- Sweet & Greet. Interfaith Peer Leaders will be giving out candy and hot cocoa, 2-5pm, lobby
- Teddy Bears of Love Collection, run by the Student Alumni Association 6:30-8:30pm, lobby
- Fairfield @ Night Holiday Bingo (with prizes) 7pm, rm 101
- Let out your energy or frustrations by screaming out loud in a collective outdoors. Group Scream, 10pm sharp, library lawn
Wednesday, Dec. 11th
- Relay for Life Registration and Raffle, 12-5pm, lobby
- De-Stress with your 5 Senses. The College of Arts & Sciences, Library, and Sodexho Dining Services will provide healthy snacks, coloring supplies, DIY stress ball, etc. We will have a therapy dog too! 2-4pm, rm 101
- 'Twas the Night Before Finals: Last minute Writing, Citation, and Research Help. Writing Center tutors and librarians will be here to help you- no appointments needed. Free coffee and snacks. 5-8pm, Writing Center (library main level)
- Let out your energy or frustrations by screaming out loud in a collective outdoors. Group Scream, 10pm sharp, library lawn
- Film Screening: Lady Bird, 7pm, rm 101
Thursday, Dec. 12th
- Let it Go: Frozen Finals De-stress. Make snowflakes and a snowpeople garland to decorate our tree while singing along to Frozen music. 10-1:30pm, rm 114
- Paws to Relax: Therapy Dog visit, 2-4pm, rm 114
- Virtual Reality Open House. Take a few minutes to try an "experience" on our Oculus Rift. 2-5pm, rm 326
- Film Screening: Kedi, 7pm, rm 101
Friday, Dec. 13th
