Glass Art and Poetry Microexhibit

The Library is hosting a microexhibit "La Settimana Santa / Holy Week" featuring artwork and poetry by famed Murano glass artist Giampaolo Seguso. This smaller-scaled exhibit, located on the top floor of the library, is an extension of a larger exhibit at the Bellarmine Museum of Art, entitled La Ragntela/The Spiderweb: Works by Giampaolo Seguso from The Corning Museum of Glass.

The pieces are centered on the events of Holy Week, the week in the Christian Church before Easter Sunday.  Each one of these pieces, engraved with a poem, is an artistic expression of deep faith commemorating these events. The Seguso family has been working on the island of Murano in Venice, Italy for six centuries.

This microexhibit is on display from April through September, 2014.
