Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month Exhibit

From the Straits of Magellan to the Caribbean tropics and the Rio Grande, this exhibit features images, artifacts and information about the unique and diverse region that is Latin America and the library resources that allow you to explore it. The exhibit is being displayed in conjunction with Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month on campus, which runs from September 15, 2011 - October 15, 2011.

Featured library resources include books and movies, Best Bets guides for starting your research in Latin America and Caribbean Studies and Religious Studies, as well as the NEW! library databases Mango Languages, Berg Fashion Library and Films on Demand.

The right hand lobby case features Nobel Prize winning Latin American authors Pablo Neruda, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Mario Vargas Llosa, as well as information about the upcoming Hispanic/Latino Film Series at the library. The left hand lobby case covers information about the Hispanic/Latino Heritage month events, study abroad in Latin America, the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program, and student groups.

The exhibit cases inside the building each highlight a different theme connecting Latin America to Fairfield University: Coffee, Catholicism and Liberation Theology, Fashion, Language, Faculty Author Javier Campos and Art.

This exhibit will run through mid-November.
