How to Get Research Help When You’re Off-Campus

Whether you're escaping the cold weather for spring break or just not on campus that often, here are a few ways that you can still access our research services:

Chat

One of the most reliable ways is our 24/7 chat box on our homepage (or in the right-hand column on this blog). Librarians are always on standby to answer your research questions, no matter the time of day or night. We recommend using the chat for:

  • Citation questions
  • Difficulty locating or accessing an article
  • Identifying search strategies and keywords

Email

If you don't need immediate assistance, we recommend sending your research question via email to research@fairfield.edu. We check the inbox regularly during operating hours and will do our best to respond as soon as we can. We recommend emailing us with questions re:

  • Difficulty accessing articles or other library materials
  • Identifying search strategies and keywords
  • Requests for suggestions for further resources on a topic, after your initial research
