Oscar films available at the Library

Oscar night was full of surprises including some well-deserved awards. While we wait for the bulk of the films to be released on DVD, the Library already has five films that were nominated:

The Dark Knight – Winner! Best Supporting Actor Heath Ledger awarded posthumously as The Joker in this latest installment of the Batman series.

Frozen River – Nominated for Best Actress, Melissa Leo stars in this quiet, indy film focusing on smuggling illegal immigrants over the Canadian/U.S. border.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona – Winner! Best Supporting Actress for Penelope Cruz in a Woody Allen film.

The Visitor – Nominated for Best Actor, Richard Jenkins plays a Connecticut University Professor in a film which also tackles the immigration issue.

WALL-E – Winner! Best Animated Feature. Fun, fun, fun.

The Dark Knight is probably the best movie ever made. I have never seen such performance like Heath delivers in this movie. Its fantastic!
