Rare Books Exhibition – Thurs, 3/22 at 4:00pm

Please join us for a traveling road show exhibition “From Codex to Kindle: The Art and History of the Book,"  on Thursday, March 22 beginning at 4:00pm at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library and ending at the Pequot Library in Southport.

The exhibition/reception celebrates the “book as a lens through which to observe the changes in the world of art, literature, and society as a whole", according to Dr. Dan Snydacker, Director of Peqout Library. The exhibit stems from the corresponding class on the history of the book which Dr. Snydacker taught fall semester through the Art History Department.   Featured in the exhibition/reception will be several internationally important volumes on natural history and “book biographies” created by Fairfield students based on rare books from the Pequot Special Collection.

Many of these beautiful books are on display now at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library and also at Pequot Library.  Please join us at one or both locations.
