Consider becoming a Book for our upcoming Human Library event! The Human Library will be held at DiMenna-Nyselius Library on Nov. 9th from 2-5pm and Nov. 10th from 5-8pm.

What is the Human Library?

A Human Library is an event that aims to create dialogue and understanding between people. Students volunteer as human ‘books’. Participants in the event can ‘read’ the book- meaning they would have a one on one conversation with the volunteer and share in a dialogue about that individual’s experience. ‘Books’ are students from all walks of life who have been stereotyped based on race, religion, sexual preference, class, gender identity, sex, age, lifestyle choices, disability and other aspects of their life. The Human Library provides the opportunity for the Fairfield community to share and understand the experiences of others in our community.
