On April 23rd at 7pm, Gasland will be shown in the DiMenna-Nyselius Multimedia Room. Writer and Director Josh Fox sets out to examine the controversy pertaining to natural gas drilling in parts of the United States. He decided to gather this information when he received a $100,000 offer to sell his land in Pennsylvania for natural gas drilling. The documented reactions and results are shocking, with some residents complaining about health problems as a result of water pollution.

The film has met a great deal of success since its release in early 2010. It has won many awards including a Primetime Emmy Award, Sundance Film Festival award and Sarasota Film Festival award.
