Water film – Io Sono Li (Shun Li and the Poet) (April 9)

Members of the Fairfield community are encouraged to attend the showcase of Shun Li and the Poet on April 9th at 7pm in the Dimenna-Nyselius Multimedia Room. Andrea Segre directed this Italian film that was released in 2011. Shun Li in a single mother who constantly moves around and changes jobs in order to raise enough money for her son to move to Italy. She moves from Rome to Chioggia, Italy, where she is employed as a bartender who serves local fishermen. It is at this tavern in Chioggia where she meets Bepi, an Eastern European fisher. However, the story unfolds when the characters' relationship, composed of two different cultural backgrounds, is criticized by members of the Chioggia community.
